![]() ![]() Common knowledge tells any player that is moving if a enemy dd is spotted near them immediately change heading and courseĤ.Never use wide spread and always know the range your torpedoes die out at if a enemy is heading away from you dont fire your torps when they are at max range because they will run out of juice before they get to your target and vise versa if an enemy is charging you, you can fire torps before they are within range because by the time the torps get to your intended target they will be in rangeĥ. When lining up torps on an enemy ship it is extremely important to stay undetected if you fire your torps and become detected it is highly unlikely any of your spreads will land. ( if you are going to fire torps with friendlies in front of you inform them before you do so)ģ. You absolutely MUST pay attention to not only your enemies but your allies when playing in a destroyer. Most important steps to being a good Destroyer captainġ. Just be careful not to get spotted, a DD turning away is a good indicator torps are in the water. ![]() Get close, remember your spotting distance and try to get as close as possible before launching. Instead get them going in a wall, it is much harder to dodge 6 torpedoes abreast than a kongo line 2 torpedoes wide.Ĥ. For more consistent hits do not fire your torpedoes off one behind the other. If you see a BB start to make a turn then aim where you think they will be, you will pick this up with practice and experience.ģ. What is your target doing? Ideally you want to catch someone broadside on so if they are constantly making erratic turns maybe hold off and look for an easier target. With two launchers I will do the one in front and one behind bit again but with some overlap with the indicator.Ģ. ![]() In a ship with 3 launchers I tend to fire one one the indicator, one in front and one behind. How many launchers do you have? This really only applies for IJN DDs. Now where exactly you aim your torps in relation to that indicator depends on a few things.ġ. The torpedo indicator is based off of the centre of your targeted ship. ![]()
